Hello everyone, my name is Laelanie Larach and I’m an abstract artist based in Miami and born in Honduras a beautiful country located in Central America that gave me a lot of inspiration during my artistic career. At a young age I began painting with charcoal and oil, art was my escape from reality, and I found peace when I was creating a coastal painting with waterfalls and oceans. During that time, I loved watching Bob Ross tv show, he was an artist with a beautiful peaceful voice that inspired me to pursue my dream on painting and be a gallery owner of Laelanie Art Gallery. During my day in school, I was always sketching eyeballs, trees and ocean waves on my notebook, then from school I went back to my art studio and stayed all day painting with watercolors or oils. During my time in school, I was part of numerous art competitions, and I always won the first prize, representing my school against all schools across the country of Honduras.

From that point I knew that I wanted to be a professional artist, and I started my first oil painting that was title “Bosque Misterioso” a surreal jungle with tall green trees and
waterfalls coming from the rocky mountains, the artwork is huge and is all oil on canvas with neutral earth colors, during that time I was only using earth colors and it never cross my mind to use bold and vibrant colors, until I moved to Miami. When I finished the painting “Bosque Misterioso” I quickly framed it and hang it on my home, is a lovely oil painting that captures all the beauty of Honduras and our natural surroundings. Then I decided to continue painting more pieces with a more brighter color palette, then I was exhibiting at art galleries and having my own art exhibitions in Honduras, and all my inspiration comes from the ocean and the days at the lake, sailing across tall mountains, watching the sunset hide behind those magical landscapes that I remember with a lot of love.

The lake was my favorite place because it was stunning and quiet, I always took my camera and took pictures of the flowers, horses, mountains and the sunset hiding behind the lake, from that point I had a fascination with photography. I decided to change my art style and incorporate all my photography with oils on canvas, using a tridimensional technique on wooden panels. A lot of people love that type of style because it was unique and nobody has invented that technique, one day I decided to leave Honduras and pursue my dream in Miami. I left my luxurious life, and it was shocking when I move here, everything was different, I kind of miss Honduras a lot but I did not want to go back because I had a goal in life to be one of the best Honduran artists across the world.

In Miami my main goal was to be a gallery owner and continue spreading my paintings to all art collectors that love my art style and at first, I was part of numerous art exhibitions and live art shows in South Beach and all over Miami! I’m proud to say that I did everything alone and from day one I was checking all art galleries, looking for a place to showcase my paintings. Some art galleries were very mean, and I had a lot of obstacles but that never stopped me from pursuing my dream inside the art industry, then I showcase at other art galleries with my solo art exhibitions, it was more for exposure and getting my name out in Florida.

My first solo art exhibition was during Brickell Art Walk, I remember taking all my oil paintings along with my metallic easels and showcase them outside the event in Brickell. A lot of people love my art style, and I wish during that time I had more people buying my artwork and promote my work, I don’t see it here in Miami. Many art galleries don’t invest in marketing for the artist, and that was a turn off during my artistic career, because I invested all my saving to showcase my artwork at numerous art galleries, but I never saw a profit, the only good part is that I was showcasing with high end artists in the Miami art scene.

One day I decided to stop exhibiting my artwork at other art galleries and open my own fine art gallery and I did it! The name of my personal art gallery is “Laelanie Art Gallery” I only showcase my artwork and sell my original oil paintings to art buyers that are interested to purchase my unique coastal oil paintings. During that time my art style changed to a brighter color palette that reflects my love for the ocean and my Hispanic Honduran heritage that brings memories of my childhood. When I moved to Miami my colors changed completely, I wanted something new and start with a fresh art style, therefore I decided to create nautical oil paintings with an abstract art style and vibrant colors, a different style from my past art collections that I created in Honduras. The oil paintings that I created in Honduras are part of my private fine art collection and therefore they are not for sale because they carry special moments from my first days as an artist back in Honduras.

Inside my new abstract paintings, you will see that I love the ocean and our natural surroundings, most of the paintings are loaded with wild ocean waves moving around tropical palm trees inside a magical dream that only exists inside my imagination. All the paintings are originals, and I only like to use oils on a thick canvas, I personally go to the art store and buy my art materials, is a fun experience that is part of the process of each oil painting. I get excited when art buyers purchase online my original oil paintings, is a beautiful feeling because I put a lot of effort and dedication into my artwork, they are special original abstract paintings that comes straight from my heart, and each one has a unique design that is inspiring and related to the coastal world.

Right now, you will find colorful palm trees paintings with vibrant bold colors and textures that pop out from the canvas creating a tridimensional effect inside the landscape, in the middle of the painting you will find a cosmic water sphere that stands across the ocean in connection with our universe. Is a beautiful fine art collection that is tropical and captures all the beauty of Miami Beach and our nature, other paintings you will find colorful butterflies and vibrant flower paintings. Is a beautiful contemporary and abstract art collection that fits into a modern home that is all neutral and needs colorful oil paintings with bright colors that will revive those empty walls! I still don’t get it when someone loves to use paintings without colors, I see that interior designers tend to use abstract paintings with no bright colors, a huge mistake they love making because you need colors in your daily life.

Therefore, all my abstract and contemporary nautical paintings are loaded with tropical colors that make me feel alive and my creativity runs wild when I’m using bright colors on a tropical painting. Other paintings have a lot of navy blue combined with turquoise, my favorite combination of colors when I’m creating a coastal oil painting, they are relaxing oil paintings that will look stunning in your home or perhaps you own a huge Hotel that needs a large fine art collection!
