Meet Laelanie Larach a Talented Artist in Miami

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Laelanie Larach a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Laelanie, thanks for joining us today. What is it like to be an artist and how creativity develops in your artistic journey? What are your inspirations during the process?

I’m happy being an artist because it gives me the option to share my creative side with everyone that likes my colorful modern art. At a young age I began painting with oils on thick canvas and at that moment, I knew that my destiny was always going to be related to the art industry and be a painter for my entire life. Isa fun journey because art is my passion and I just love to stay at my art studio painting, enjoying every minute of the process, creating different art styles that includes coastal paintings with palm trees or paintings of butterflies that reflects my Hispanic background and the beauty of our natural surroundings. My source of inspiration behind my paintings is always related to the ocean and natural landscapes that blend into one masterpiece.

Laelanie, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I was born in Honduras a beautiful country located in Central America that gave me so much inspiration during my artistic career, as I mention before at a young age I began painting with oils and charcoal and it was my way of expressing inner thoughts and just following my dream on becoming a recognize artist. It was this moment at a young age that I knew I’m going to be a painter during my entire life, and I just love it. When I moved to Miami my main goal was to follow my dream of having my own art gallery and be able to sell my original oil paintings to art collectors. At first, I was exhibiting at other art galleries and doing live art shows. It was a tough journey and I’m proud to say that I did everything by myself, my biggest goal was also part of Art Basel, and my dream came true when I was doing my solo art exhibitions, it was inspirational to see my paintings at Art Basel and art collectors buying my artwork during the art shows.

Another of my goals and the most important one was to have my own art gallery, as the years passed, I was able to open Laelanie Art Gallery and with a lot of determination and perseverance I was able to achieve my dream. Art has played a huge role in my life and it gives me the option to be creative in my artwork, each original oil painting is hand painted with vibrant summer bold colors such as yellow, turquoise, blue and many more combinations that are fun to use while I’m painting, because they always cheer me up and sometimes I love to use coastal ocean colors tat includes deep navy blue along with bright turquoise and other colors that you can see in my new fine art collection of original coastal paintings. They have a different art style with relaxing energy around huge spiral ocean waves clashing together inside an underwater world of dreams and memories that vanished in my heart.

In all my paintings I used oils on a thick canvas, and I have been using oils for years and it is fun to use bright colors that are vibrant when I’m creating tropical contemporary artwork with long palm trees or colorful butterflies flying inside a magical landscape that I like painting when I’m creating abstract artwork. Colors play an important role in my life and without colors life is nothing, this is why I like to use tropical ocean colors in my original oil paintings that always bright up my day and of course it will bring a positive energy to your home interiors.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being creative in your experience?

The most rewarding aspect of being an artist is to share my artwork and creativity with people from different parts of the world and to see their reaction when they are buying my original oil paintings. Also Is nice to be a creative artist because it let your imagination flow when you are painting and art has always been my passion that began at a young age back in Honduras, therefore I will always continue painting my colorful abstract paintings and contemporary nautical artwork that are unique and different from other artists in Florida and across the world.

How can we best help foster a strong supportive environment for artists and creatives?

They should support every artist out there, sharing their artwork on social media and buying their paintings at full price. Or do more art show here in Florida to encourage a young generation of artists to follow their dreams and do what they just love!

Which is your favorite design when it comes to creating a painting? What do you love to paint?

I love painting palm trees around spiral ocean waves with deep navy blue, turquoise and many other colors that are fun to use while creating a relaxing nautical piece, the ocean always is relaxing and therefore I love to use it while I’m painting an abstract artwork that includes long palm trees moving inside a colorful landscape that is unique. Also, you will find butterfly paintings flying inside a colorful sky and in the center of the artwork a huge water sphere moving in circles and textures that pop out from the artwork creating a beautiful effect inside my original coastal paintings. Laelanie, which is your favorite painting?

My favorite painting is a portrait of my dog that I created back in Honduras, the painting is special, and it shows my angel sitting inside a colorful landscape around flowers, roses, lakes, butterflies and planets in different colors floating inside a universe that only exist in my heart. The portrait is special and even if they offer me 20 million dollars, I will never going to sell it because that portrait has a all the memories that I cherish with my beautiful dog that I adore with all my heart.
